Young Adult Services
Services:
· Audio Books, Graphic Novels, Fiction Books, Periodicals – teen selections are available
· Reader’s Advisory – a Librarian is available to help teens choose reading materials
· School & Community Outreach - Librarians are available to schools and community organizations for programming, book talks, and book discussions. Classes are also welcome at the library for tours and special projects
· Work/Study Area - quiet study tables are available at the Central and West River Libraries. There are also tutor rooms at the West River
Programs:
- Computer Gaming (WR) – gaming time is available in the West River Computer lab each Tuesday afternoon from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm, registration required
- Homework Help (WR) – homework help is available free of charge homework help schedule
- Special Programs – there is usually a teen program each month, and often more during the summer program schedule
- Summer Reading Club – a special reading incentive program entertains during the summer.
- Teen Advisory Board – a program where teens share ideas about programming, collection development, events and fundraising at a monthly meeting advisory board meeting schedule
- Teen Read Week – a themed programming week with activities to encourage reading .
