We have so much going on this Fall; I hope you will come and spend time with fellow community members at the library, learning something new, enjoying a fun event, and making new connections with neighbors. Before highlighting some of our events this season, I would like to thank the community for your responses to the Library’s Community Survey. A brief summary of the results is shared on the next page of the newsletter. Coming up in September, our West River Library is hosting a Wellness Fair with so many community partners participating, with free health screenings, a tai chi class, and free resources and giveaways. Also in September, our Central Library is excited to host No Place Like Home, a special event celebrating the 85th anniversary of the timeless film The Wizard of Oz. In October, we have the Cleveland Candlelight Mystery Plays coming to present an after-hours Murder Mystery play where the audience gets to participate in solving the mystery with clues. At the same time, our youth librarians will host a movie night for kids 6-12 so that adults can enjoy the show while the kids play nearby. For book lovers and writers in the community: keep an eye out for a writer’s workshop with author Natalie Richards, and the annual book sales of both of the wonderful Friends of the Library groups that support EPL. When you get this newsletter, you probably won’t yet be thinking about snow, but it’s hard to believe that in a few months we will celebrate the annual Tree Lighting tradition with the Friends of EPL Keystone and host a new special event called Ginger & Frost to get in the holiday spirit. In addition to events that bring the community together, the library is also ready to help voters get important information leading to the November election. Our team is ready with information to help people get registered to vote and to be informed about what the public will be deciding in November so that each person is prepared to decide for themselves and participate in the election. We are so proud to be your library, and look forward to welcoming you at one of our locations! Warmly, Jen Starkey
