Elyria Public Library (EPL) reserves the right to suspend library access to patrons that do not follow the Library's Patron Code of Conduct. Patrons engaged in conduct that poses an immediate risk to health or safety may be expelled from library premises without prior warning and with or without the assistance of local law enforcement.
Restrictions on library use will be enacted for a period of time based on the severity of the offense, the patron’s history of policy violations, and any other relevant factors. Once the period of the suspension is complete, and before they can regain library access, patrons may be required to meet with EPL staff, or complete and return a Reinstatement Form, agreeing to adhere to the Patron Code of Conduct, to continue use of the EPL system.
Juveniles who violate the Library’s Patron Code of Conduct may be restricted from the library depending upon the severity of the misconduct. Once the period of the suspension is complete, and before they can regain library access, juveniles and their guardians may be expected to meet with EPL staff, or complete and return a Reinstatement Form, agreeing to follow the guidelines of the Patron Code of Conduct, to continue use of the EPL system.
